Eat like a Bear
at The Bear Hotel Crickhowell

Calling all hungry travellers, walkers with aching feet and workers with hungry bellies – we’re ready and waiting to welcome you.

At The Bear Hotel in Crickhowell, we pride ourselves on our warm and enduring hospitality. We’ve been welcoming weary travellers since 1432. Fine fare is at the heart of our establishment, and you’ll always find tasty, locally sourced dishes to suit every palate on our menus.

Traditional dishes and old favourites alongside contemporary British cuisine

We delight in serving our customers food of the highest standards. From prime local Venison and Welsh bred steaks to pan-roasted fish and fragrant risottos.

To accompany the dishes, we have a selection of craft beers and real ales – including Tudor, Gower Gold, Proper Job and Thornbridge. We also have a range of international wines across every price bracket for the wine connoisseurs or those looking for a wine to accompany their meal.

Many of the team have worked at The Bear for years, so they know the menu inside and out. They are always ready to elaborate on the menu or make recommendations

Locally sourced food

We’re proud to have partnered with some of the finest local food suppliers and distributors. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons of Wales have become a centre for organic producers and artisan food makers – many of whose products appear on our menu.

Many of our suppliers are based in the local area and have become long-term trusted partners. After working with them over many years, we benefit from priority access to regional specialities and seasonal delicacies.

There are a few good reasons we were voted one of the Best Pubs in Wales for 2020 by the AA – come and discover them for yourself.
