There are some changes on the bar at The Bear.
Some favourite ales are staying. Some others are going. The aim is to extend the choice to drinkers, whether you love real ales or continental lagers.
The new pumps went in this morning and Manager, Rodger Francis: “We ahave changed our ‘core’ ales and lagers to drinks which are not found at every other pub just down the road. At the same time, we understand that many people prefer, for instance, continental lagers, so we will keep them on tap too.”
So, beer lovers will continue to find a wide range of guest ales, local beers like Grey Trees, Gower and Boss Breweries which are changed 2-3 times a week. Hancock’s HB (a beer with strong Welsh Heritage) will join Reverend James and Butcombe Original on the regular pumps, and Lager lovers will see Pravha and Sharp’s Offshore Pilsner on draft.
Rodger said: “We like to go for drinks which are a little bit different so that coming to The Bear is an experience. The guest pumps have given us a chance to experiment, and we are keeping those beers which have a strong following. We very often have a local guest on the guest pumps, and we would be very interested in talking to anyone who has fresh ideas for what goes on there.”
